Miami Art Week 2017
Faena announces a series of new site-sensitive commissions in public areas of the Faena District Miami Beach. Immersive, site-sensitive commissions by international artists Phillip K. Smith III, Studio Drift, Peter Tunney, and artistic interventions on the Faena Forum’s façade by Miami-based artist Kelly Breez, collective Coral Morphologic, and Argentine artist Martin Borini, will activate the Faena District.

ángeles veloces arcanos fugaces is a participatory art installation that reimagines a roller dancing rink as an art experience by assume vivid astro focus (avaf).
The immersive, participatory and site-specific installation created by avaf, ángeles veloces arcanos fugaces, includes a line-up of DJs and performers who will activate the roller rink with their own practice while the public is invited to dance and skate within the installation.

Biennale of Moving Images
Faena Art announces the opening of the Biennale of Moving Images (Biennale de l’Image en Mouvement or BIM) at Faena Art Center Buenos Aires on May 22nd. A selection of highlights from the biennial will be installed in non-traditional spaces in Sala Molinos and will be accompanied by a robust screening program in Sala Catedral.

Faena Art Center Buenos Aires announces the opening of Thresholding (En el Umbral), a solo exhibition by 2016 Faena Prize for the Arts winner Roger Hiorns.
Exploring the history and context of Buenos Aires and the neighborhood of Puerto Madero, Roger Hiorns reimagines experience of the urban landscape in his reclamation and reuse of abandoned or forgotten elements of the industrial, mechanized world and appropriation of an unused plot of land. The audience is presented with not only a new way of experiencing contemporary cultural production but with a new framework for seeing artifacts from our social and historical narratives and resignifying our relationship to them.
