Artist in Residence

FAENA ART is pleased to announce inaugural Artist in Residence program with five Miami-based multidisciplinary artists. Suzi Analogue, Paperwater and Amanda Bradley will work in-residence at the Faena Forum, transforming the OMA designed building into temporary artist studios. The program will run until November 2020.

Faena Art’s Artist in Residence program responds to the organization’s mission to foster and engage the local artistic community and support experimental art-making practices through this marked period of uncertainty.

“Artists play an essential role in our communities, and even more in these challenging times,” says Alan Faena. “We are humbled to offer the Faena Forum to those in need for a space to experiment and create. We are excited to transform the Forum into a shelter for the arts and welcome Jamilah Sabur, Suzi Analogue, and Paperwater to create with us” stated Alan Faena.

While in residence, each artist will explore persistent themes in their work, initiating new projects and collaborations while completing past endeavors. Sabur, who works across performance, video, and installation and frequently considers the past, present, and future linked to the complex relationship between varied geographies, will create a new video work while in residence.

Faena Art intends to expand the program and invite additional artists to continue to develop their practice within the walls of the Forum. The program was launched with artist Jamilah Sabur.
